Future Hope

Uniting
Invisible stands a barrier,
crafted and cracked with wires
Two lands stand in ceremony,
hoisting rituals of old

People dotted along the lines,
rubbed in sand long ago
Curious, but not tempting fate-
as they peek over the wall

Their young were told the stories,
their history wrapped in a bow
The path to the future had begun,
yet there remained fractures of old

Letting go of tumultuous sorrow,
is the challenge that stands
But lights flicker in the distance,
beckoning the hopeful through

It calls and calls, echoing,
our peaceful tunes as hymmes
Till melodies are etched in us,
And we sing along in perfect sync
