Tradition should be appreciated not forced
I wonder why tradition is being forced upon us. I know our elders and parents see it as a way of keeping the lineage, but something that should be taught in a way that we -the young ones- would appreciate seeing it in the eyes and ways of our elders.
I wish our parents and elders would look at it from the perspective of the young eye and adapt as the times are changing. It is why I became fascinated by the history of other people traditions and how it’s being passed on to the younger generation in a way that makes them love it more. It is why I decided to study Mass Communication and further into International Relations. Curiosity led to study, and then it led to practice. That’s how I appreciate the tradition: because I learned it from a new perspective, and from a different way.
