Brave Boy Tabo

Orphaned at an early age, he had a lonely, difficult life. He was tossed from one relative to another, denied the basic needs of a young man. At the age of 22, Tabo could not hold it anymore, therefore settled for early marriage. His wife’s name was Kaki. She was one intelligent woman who, apparently, also went through a similar experience as Tabo, after the demise of her mother. Her father married another woman immediately after, and things for Kaki and her two siblings were unbearable.

Kaki and Tabo were happy to have found each other, hence desired to have as many children as possible, to always be surrounded by people. They were blessed with 12 children.

Life was not easy. As the children grew, their needs became more. Tabo was forced to move his family to an unsettled land that looked unproductive. Through hard work, he managed to build canals from the main river to the land and irrigate his crops. Through the produce, he provided food and education to his children.

Tabo died some few years ago, but his legacy lives. His children are prominent members of the society, and the productive land known as Leza was born out of his sheer determination.
