Bridging the Gap with Humanity
This is a story of the times when the only language of humans was kindness and honesty, when people identified each other only as humans and fellow individuals. When there were no lines of discrimination; a time when the exchange in barter system was only Trust.
This dates back to 1962, when a lean, timid man in his early twenties, ventured out of a small village in southern-India to write his destiny in the busiest metropolitan city in India – Mumbai. Though he was frail, he had great courage and determination to work hard to support his huge family back home.
The journey began by boarding a train without knowing the destination to get down. As only humanity prevailed, a fellow passenger accompanied him to the required destination and also provided food and shelter for a day.
This makes me ponder, “does this trust still prevail in mankind, where we can blindly trust the fellow passenger without being judgmental of fraud or human trafficking?”
Had my grandfather not crossed the cultural boundaries and bridged the gaps, or if he hadn’t trusted his journey, I would not be narrating this story from the City of Gold!
